Christine Gutleben is CRLE's food, farming,
and faith program director, working with faith-based communities and theological
schools to promote humane and sustainable food choices and to mobilize these communities
to stop factory farming.
Christine received her Master's degree from
Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA, where she studied theology and ethical
food choices. In the midst of her studies, she spent a summer farming at a sustainable
farm in the Central Valley of California where she learned to cultivate soil,
drive tractors, irrigate fields and weld. She founded The GTU Forum on Animals
and Religion, promoted awareness of factory farms, and held Peaceable Kingdom
screenings on the GTU campus.
